Join us July 1st - 4th as Washington, North Carolina celebrates 250 years of history, community, and patriotism with four days of special events and activities throughout the Historic Harbor District.

Shop and explore local during the Red, White & Blue Sale and “Where Is George?” Scavenger Hunt July 1st - 4th. Discover historic exhibits and tours, enjoy live entertainment, and celebrate Independence Day with a spectacular fireworks show over the Pamlico River.

“That’s a wrap!”🎬

If you were downtown Washington yesterday, you may have seen a film crew all around town filming.🎥🤩

North Carolina Main Street has been working on their NC Main to Main Trail project. They hired production company, Roseland Pictures, to film all 72 designated Main Street communities in North Carolina.

I want to give MANY thanks:

A heartfelt thank you to our many downtown businesses for participating, accommodating, and being flexible with implementing the film schedule. Thank you to everyone for coordinating and working with us during the planning process to get a solid schedule laid out. We had one day to get a “highlight reel” of downtown Washington and with all we have to offer, it was a BUSY, fast-paced, exciting day, and having that plan was essential!

Thank you to all of the businesses that coordinated with us to film inside their business, every single one exemplified true hospitality. Whether it was serving up beautifully plated dishes, beautiful drinks, gathering employees to go kayaking in the river and much more, every single business truly showed up and showed out yesterday!

A HUGE thank you to Tar Pamlico Trolley for being a HERO yesterday. The morning weather made for a few hiccups in film schedule putting us slightly behind. Thank you to Adam for answering my call and request for help to secure a trolley in helping get the film crew all around town yesterday afternoon to speed up the process and get us back on track! Couldn’t have done it without them!👏

Last but certainly not least, thank you to North Carolina Main Street Center and Roseland Pictures for teaming up and bringing this wonderful opportunity to our community.

Yesterday really exemplified the phrase “teamwork makes the dream work”. We can’t wait to show you the final product and “highlight” of downtown Washington, stay tuned!
