The Washington Woman’s Club was pleased to award the John R. Duggan Scholarship in the amount of $1,500.00 to two outstanding Wilkes County seniors - Jonathan Conard and Caroline Durham. This scholarship is awarded annually to seniors who demonstrate excellence in leadership, athletics, community involvement, and academics, while maintaining a GPA of 90 or above and exemplifying strong character and dedication both in and out of the classroom.

We congratulate Jonathan and Caroline on this well-deserved honor and wish them continued success in all of their future endeavors.

🚜🔥 Wilkes/Lincoln Farm Safety Camp 2026 🔥🚜

Join us for a fun and educational day at Farm Safety Camp on Thursday, May 28 at the McGill-Woodruff Ag Center!

👧👦 Open to youth who have completed Kindergarten through 5th grade

💲 Cost: $10 per camper

🕘 Check-in: 8:30 AM
🕘 Camp Time: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM

🚨 Campers will learn about:
Electrical Safety
Lawn Mower Safety
Boating Safety
Bus Safety
Gun Safety
Fire Safety
Reptiles 🐍

🍽️ Campers will receive:

2 snacks
Lunch
T-shirt

The Washington Woman’s Club proudly awarded the John Duggan Memorial Scholarship to Janie Marxsen and Jordan Dawson on Thursday, May 15, 2025. Both students received their $1,500 scholarships at the Washington-Wilkes Comprehensive High School Senior Honors Night. Since 1978, the John R. Duggan Memorial Scholarship has been granted to seniors from Wilkes County by the Washington Woman’s Club. Recipients of the scholarship must demonstrate exceptional community leadership, excellence in academics and leadership throughout their high school career.

Additionally, the Washington Woman’s Club recognized Jade Fincher at Senior Night for winning the $500 Miss Wilkes County scholarship. The Washington Woman’s club is proud to award the $500 scholarship to the contestant in the Miss category with the highest GPA. Miss Wilkes County Pageant & Little Mister Wilkes County

We were truly inspired learning about their incredible outreach and unwavering dedication to supporting individuals and families affected by cancer. Thank you, Mike, for sharing the TJ and Friends Foundation’s mission and reminding us of the power of community, compassion, and hope.
