At Big Red Barn Animal Sanctuary we belief that animals deserve to be treated with love and respect.

Most of our residents have been rescued from abuse, neglect or exploitation. Here, we provide a safe home where they are loved and cared for.

Our posts have been few and far between and for that we apologize. Life has thrown us (personally and our organization) several curve balls over the past year all starting with the unexpected eviction from Big Red Orchard last February. We've been busy managing the many changes, addressing the animals' needs, and trying to anticipate and plan for the future. We know you have come to love and care about the animals and probably wonder how they are doing, so here are some pictures from this past weekend of some familiar faces. We appreciate your continued support. Please stay with us as we navigate the road ahead. We promise to post pictures and updates as often as we can.

Hi friends, Happy Spring!.....well, according to the calendar at least.
Unfortunately Mother Nature decided that we needed a little bit more Winter weather. So, on this snowy Friday, we are reaching out on behalf of our friends at Farm Animal Rescue Mission and asking if you can donate $5 or $10 so we can purchase some bales of straw to help keep the pigs, bulls, goats and sheep warm and cozy until the weather warms up. Our goats would LOVE it of you donated your NATURAL tree to them! **No sprays, No flocking, NO tinsel and must be cleared of all ornaments and hooks**
You can drop off at Farm Animal Rescue Mission or message us. We have some limited availability to pick up.

We want to recognize our community supporters for their donations today. Over 30 pumpkins and 26 bales of straw were provided for our animals, as well as a generous donation of cans.

Thank you the Marino family, and The Village of Romeo and Downtown Romeo, MI for the generous donations. Our animals appreciate it and we will make sure that these donations go to good use.

Don't let those fall decorations go to waste. When taking down your decorarions we ask that you consider donating them to our animals. We are looking for any fall produce (uncarved pumpkins, gourds, appkes, cabbage, etc.) or straw bales that you have no more use for.

If you come out to the 2023 Romeo Peach Festival make sure you stop by and say hi to our friends from Farm Animal Rescue Mission and meet Wilson the ram lamb! Their tent is on south Main St.

If you're out and about, and looking for something to do today, head out to Marine City for Maritime Days. We're out here helping our buddies at Farm Animal Rescue Mission raise awareness about livestock rescue and their facility.
