ResQ2Feed was at the table — literally.

We had the privilege of attending and tabling at the Mohawk Valley Healthy Lifestyles Partnership Health Equity Summit at the Delta Hotel in Utica, alongside some of the most dedicated community health leaders in Oneida County.

We connected with the County Health Department, Valley Health System, Excellus BlueCross BlueShield, Community Foundation of Herkimer & Oneida Counties, Life Center, and Acres — organizations working every day to make our county healthier and more equitable.
ResQ2Feed is proud to stand alongside this community as a partner in the food health network — connecting rescued food to the families and communities who need it most." ResQ2Feed Oneida County closes the food security gap that Oneida County's own Community Health Assessment has identified as a worsening public health priority.

The conversations we had today are exactly why we do this work. More to come.

New York State's average for limited healthy food access is 2%. Oneida County's is 6% — three times higher, and worsening.

This isn't just about convenience. The Oneida County Health Assessment connects food access directly to chronic disease, mental health struggles, and poverty. When people can't easily reach affordable, nutritious food, everything else gets harder.

That's why food rescue matters. Share if you agree.

Did you know that 9.9% of adults 65+ in Oneida County are living in poverty?

Oneida County's official 2025–2030 health improvement plan specifically calls for interventions to "reduce food insecurity for older adults living in poverty" — particularly in rural areas.

Older adults are a priority population when it comes to addressing food insecurity—and for good reason. Limited mobility, fixed incomes, and rural access challenges make it harder to get the food they need.

ResQ2Feed answers that call. We partner with organizations serving older residents to make sure rescued food reaches those who need it most — and who are least likely to ask for help

According to the new Oneida County Community Health Assessment, 13% of our neighbors lack reliable access to food — and that number is rising.

That's not a national statistic. That's Utica. Rome. New Hartford. Our community.

ResQ2Feed exists to close this gap — rescuing food that would be wasted and getting it to the people who need it most. 🥦

The paradox is right in front of us.

Nearly 40% of food in the US goes to waste... yet 1 in 10 of our Oneida County neighbors faces hunger.

We aren't short on food; we're short on connections.

That's where YOU come in.

ResQ2Feed Oneida County bridges the gap between surplus and need. We rescue perfectly good food from local businesses’, farms, and cafeterias—before it hits the landfill—and deliver it directly to food pantries, shelters, and meal sites serving our neighbors.
1,000 lbs of food = 830 meals provided
Every rescue makes a difference. Every volunteer matters. Every donation counts.
