Project inmotion We are a team of licensed clinicians specializing in social work and creative movement forming an interdisciplinary approach to movement based programs.

We are a holistic, children and youth center that provides therapeutic interventions through sports and movement based programming and supportive services, to enhance social emotional development in marginalized communities in NYC. Founded by two licensed social workers, our programs offer a unique and person centered approach aimed to address behavioral, psychosocial, intellectual, body regulation and communication skill development. At the SSKIM center, we aim to provide a safe space while addressing the social emotional needs of marginalized communities children and adolescents. Founded on the principles that everyone has the innate ability to move, deserves the opportunity to experience movement and that kids learn best through play. Our programs use a variety of movement based activities to engage and empower kids in social emotional learning that is person-centered and fun! We specialize in working with children with behavioral and/or developmental disabilities.

We’re so excited to welcome Maria LP-LCAT, to the Project inMOTION team!

As a Puerto Rican woman, Maria understands the importance of culture, identity, and the many experiences that shape who we are. She recognizes that starting therapy can be a big and sometimes stressful step, and she is committed to creating a safe, supportive, and judgment-free space where clients can feel seen, heard, and empowered to work toward their goals.

Maria uses a client-centered approach, incorporating both verbal and nonverbal interventions—including art making—to meet each client where they are. By blending art and conversation, she helps clients explore emotions, find clarity, express what words sometimes cannot, and support their healing journey.
