Montgomery County SPCA The Montgomery County SPCA (MCSPCA) in Maryland is an all-volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to the humane treatment of animals.

The Montgomery County SPCA (MCSPCA) is an all-volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to the humane treatment of animals MCSPCA serves the Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C., areas. The MCSPCA does not operate a traditional shelter, rather all MCSPCA animals live in foster care while awaiting adoption. MCSPCA is independent, locally based, and funded completely by donations. We receive no financial support from the ASPCA or from any federal, state, or county government agencies. Because MCSPCA is an all-volunteer organization, all funds go directly to helping the animals in our care.

Meet Haley, 14 years old and absolutely convinced that your lap belongs to her
Haley is the kind of cat who makes you wonder why anyone ever decided that cats are aloof.

This beautiful girl is extremely sweet, loves attention, and is a serious lap-cat professional. Her favorite activity is curling up on her person and going to sleep. If you sit down, there is a good chance Haley will interpret that as an invitation. If you lie down, even better. She especially loves sleeping on her person, and once she decides you're hers, she wants to be close.

And then there is her fur. It is unbelievably soft. Seriously, you'll want to keep petting her.

Haley is a little skittish and can be nervous in unfamiliar situations, so she needs a quiet home and someone who will let her build confidence at her own pace. But underneath that initial caution is a wonderfully affectionate cat who really enjoys having a person of her own.

She's also playful and still very much enjoys batting at toys and having a good time. She may be 14, but she has not retired from the important business of playing.

Haley would probably be happiest as the only cat, where she doesn't have to share her person, or her lap.

Haley is afraid of dogs, so she needs a dog-free home.

Haley does have some ongoing medical needs, but they are quite manageable. She takes a thyroid medication and gabapentin for her arthritis pain, neither of which is particularly expensive. She also needs to remain on a prescription renal diet. Her adopter will need to be comfortable continuing her medications and dietary care.

She also has excellent litter box manners, because even when she's busy occupying your lap, she takes care of business.

What Haley wants is someone who will appreciate a slightly shy cat who becomes deeply attached once she trusts you, and who doesn't mind having a soft, purring, sleeping cat permanently installed on their lap.

⭐MEET TIRAMISU⭐

Tiramisu is a Siamese male born around April 15, 2026. He was born in a feral colony and initially came to the MSPCA as a potential TNR kitty, but it quickly became clear that this sweet boy had other plans! He took to people almost immediately and turned out to be friendly, snuggly, and very easygoing. His little dusting of chocolate coloring is what earned him his dessert-inspired name, and he gets along wonderfully with other cats, especially his friend Cannoli.

Tiramisu is a big fan of food and will happily let you know with plenty of enthusiastic chatter when it’s mealtime. He is bonded with Cannoli, and the two must be adopted together. With his affectionate nature, love of other cats, and laid-back personality, he would make a wonderful addition to a home looking for a pair of sweet companions.

⭐MEET MACARONI⭐

Macaroni was born early to mid april 2026 and is a large brown tabby male. Macaroni can be a bit timid at first but warms up quickly and is the absolute sweetest. He enjoys playtime, meal time, and cuddle time.

He is often part of the feline pile ups on someone's lap and enjoys sleeping on the bed with his humans, wherever there is an open space. He is very laid back and happy to go with the flow, whether waiting happily for pets or being moved to a different nap spot.

Macaroni does not seem to enjoy being alone in a room and would appreciate a full time companion. He would be happy to go home with his brother Linguine, or make a potential new friend in the form of any furry companions you may already have, preferably a fellow feline.

⭐MEET LINGUINE⭐

Linguine is a grey and white swirl tabby male born early to mid April 2026. Linguine is a sociable sweetheart. He adores flopping down wherever you are or sprawling out on top of you. He has the softest fur and a cute little mew.

He does not like being alone, and would very much prefer to live with a friend, either his brother Macaroni or another friendly companion. He really enjoys meal time and will start crying with excitement when his caretakers enter the kitchen. He is often worried about missing out so once he has a few bites of his own food, he pushes his way into other dishes to make sure there isn’t something more interesting there.

Linguine will also try to share his human friends' meals especially if the humans are on the couch instead of at the table. Linguine is extremely trusting and relaxed, and will be happy to vibe with any guests you have.

🆘URGENT- FOSTER NEEDED WITHIN A WEEK🆘

The owner is active duty military, getting ready to relocate to Okinawa. Meet Calvin and Bandit.

Calvin is a 6-year-old domestic long hair who weighs approximately 16 pounds. Calvin is a social, curious cat who loves being near his person. He often relaxes on the bed, sometimes settling near your head or in your lap. While he is not always a traditional cuddle cat who wants to be held, he genuinely enjoys company.
When the mood strikes, he becomes a loyal shadow, following you from room to room so he can be included in whatever you are doing. He really enjoys being involved in whatever is going on around him and would benefit from a family that has time to interact with him.

Calvin loves watching the world from a window, exploring the house, and investigating anything that catches his attention—he has even been known to try opening doors! Playful and energetic, he enjoys running around the house and

Bandit is a 6-year-old domestic short hair who weighs approximately 15 pounds.
Bandit is an incredibly loving cat who would be happiest with someone who enjoys having a constant companion. He loves being held, cuddling, and spending time with his people, so I think he'd do especially well in a home where he can get plenty of attention and affection.

Although more relaxed than Calvin, Bandit still enjoys playtime and activities that keep him entertained. His favorite toys and cardboard scratchers will help him feel comfortable as he settles in his new home. One of his funniest habits is climbing up on his pet parents’ shoulders and standing there as if he’s found the perfect perch!
Both cats have excellent litter box habits and are up to date on vaccinations. If you have room in your home and heart for two loving cats with complementary personalities, Calvin and Bandit are ready to bring double the affection—and plenty of purrs—to your family.

Orzo is a black and brown swirl tabby male born in early to mid April 2026. Orzo is a ball of love and has a big personality. He likes to play and he likes to hide the toys. He likes to eat and will growl to let his siblings know to stay away from his dish even when no one is near him.

He also loves cuddling and will bump your hand with his head to request you pet him. Orzo doesn’t seem to mind being on his own, and might like to have all the food, toys, and attention to himself. He might also do well with a new friend, one who is bigger and/or older than him, and won’t let themselves be pushed around or bullied. He may even be open to a canine companion.

⭐MEET MEOW MEOW ⭐

Meet Meow Meow, a 4-year old spayed beauty. Although she is little, she has a big, loving personality. Meow Meow loves to get and give affection from her family and strangers alike. She loves chin scritches the most! She doesn’t mind being held or handled and will chirp while she's in your arms, but she prefers to be constantly on the move so she may not stay in your arms long. She will be your shadow, following you from place to place.

She is a cat that shows affection back by trying to groom you, she gives the gentlest love bites ever and will run her teeth along your skin when she is happy. She needs someone that understands that this is a show of affection and won't be scared. She loves to play both with you and independently. She especially loves ping pong balls and toy springs. She also loves kick toys and will do bunny kicks while she attacks them. She is chatty when she wants attention and around meal times.

She sometimes gets the zoomies and likes to tell you about it while she's having fun. She loves looking out the window. She makes a great office companion, sleeping in a cat tree right beside her foster mom while she works throughout the day. She loves scratching posts and would need a home with a lot of scratching posts or cat-friendly furniture. She is smart and easily redirected if she scratches the wrong thing but sometimes does forget in her excitement to see you.

She has had a busy life before coming to MCSPCA but now she is ready to relax with you as her lifelong companion. Meow Meow has lived with both children and other cats previously. She's even become friends with one of her foster mom's resident cats. She'd be the perfect companion, even in a small apartment.

Alfredo, a 9 year old lover of treats and humans, is looking for a quiet home, a comfortable sofa, and someone who will feed him treats any time he wants (he's a food lover and it's the way to his heart). Alfredo loves to be where the people are, but he likes his personal space. He prefers to be next to you and not on top of you, which is actually great if you're trying to get work done or read a book. Alfredo can be vocal and chirps when he's getting pets, he loves open windows and laying in sunbeams, and he will get a bit of the zoomies and play with his mouse on occasion. He gets along great with the cat and dog in the home and would prefer a home with a feline companion.

His long fur requires lots of brushing but luckily being brushed is his most favorite thing. I think he likes being brushed more than he likes food. Alfredo had all of his teeth removed due to severe dental disease but that doesn't stop him from eating anything; he loves canned food, dry food and every type of treat he's come across. Alfredo has asthma and requires an inhaler. He is so good about his treatments because he knows there is food afterwards.
