National Police Domestic Abuse Foundation To provide awareness, education, training, and support to vict Who do you call?

Providing a unique service by understanding the dynamics of officer-involved domestic violence, psychology of policing, and victim needs as they relate to police perpetrated domestic violence. When someone is being abused we tell them to call the police; but what if it is the police who are hurting you? The dynamics behind police perpetrated domestic violence is complex and many people believe tha

t fellow officers would not hesitate to arrest their fellow co-worker if they knew they were abusing their intimate partner; however it is quite the contrary. When a police officer is suspected of domestic violence, fellow officers may “cover” for that officer in any number of ways; leaving the victim unprotected and vulnerable to further abuse.
