Friday Greetings Workshops Community.

We received some somber news regarding the passing of our dear friend, colleague, and mentor, Ms. Sharon Sievers (Sherrie).

Sherrie tirelessly dedicated the majority of her professional life to the Washington Workshops. She was always a steady and caring leader that consistently advocated to create the highest quality programs in service of our students, schools, teachers, and administrators. She touched the lives of thousands of Workshops alumni in her 44+ year career.

Sherrie will also be remembered as a compassionate mentor, trainer, colleague and loving friend to generations of Washington Workshops staff that passed through our N Street offices in service of our mission.

Our founder, Mr. Leo Tonkin, loved to share the following quote (slightly modified to include all in attendance) from Shakespeare's Henry V's, St. Crispin's Day Speech.

Leo would dedicate a toast to Sherrie at many a memorable and enjoyable team dinner, or happy hour.

"We few, we happy few, we band of brothers....and sisters"

This personified how fortunate we all felt, and continue to feel to have had Sherrie in our lives.

Sherrie, you will be missed dearly, and we love you. We will continue to carry out our happy mission in honor of you and your family. We will also continue to raise a glass in your memory for years to come!

Sherrie's funeral will take place at Grace Lutheran Church in Easton, Maryland at 11am on November 2, 2024.
