Free Community Health Clinic – Baltimore

Yesterday, UMCA Relief and Sahara Programs in coordination with RotaCare Maryland Inc. , came together to provide free healthcare to our Baltimore community.

Tens of uninsured and vulnerable individuals were seen by caring medical professionals and received much-needed health screenings, consultations, and guidance.

A heartfelt thank you to Rotacare and Sahara Programs for the joint effort and to all the doctors, volunteers, and community members who made the clinic possible.

Together, we are helping build a healthier and stronger community.

The United Muslim Community of America (UMCA) President, Ustadh Habibullah Ziar, participated in the Alexandria Police Department’s inaugural Faith & Blue Prayer Breakfast on October 9, 2026, in Alexandria, Virginia. Representing UMCA and the Muslim community, he delivered a message highlighting Islam’s teachings of peace, hope, unity, and mutual respect. The event brought together faith leaders, city officials, and law enforcement representatives to strengthen community partnerships, build trust, and promote peace and public safety for all.

UMCA sincerely thanks Mayor Bowser and the of Columbia Government for proclaiming October 2026 as Islamic Heritage Month in Washington, DC.

This recognition honors the rich history, heritage, and contributions of Muslim Americans to our nation’s capital.

UMCA also appreciates the America’s Islamic Heritage Museum (AIHM) for its leadership in preserving and promoting American Muslim history and heritage.

We proudly join Muslim organizations and communities across DC in celebrating this meaningful occasion.

Members of the United Muslim Community of America (UMCA) and community leaders from Virginia met with H.E. Naseer Ahmad Faiq, Afghanistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations.

The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss important issues affecting Afghan immigrants and the broader Afghan-American community in the United States, including community needs, integration, representation, and opportunities for greater engagement with relevant institutions.

Participants also exchanged updates and perspectives on developments at the recent United Nations General Assembly and discussed matters of importance to Afghanistan and Muslims living in the United States.

The meeting reaffirmed the importance of dialogue, collaboration, and constructive engagement among community leaders, Afghan representatives, and other stakeholders in addressing the evolving needs and concerns of the Afghan-American community and the broader Muslim community.

The United Muslim Community of America (UMCA) successfully hosted the Commemorating Afghanistan’s Independence Day event on August 19, 2026, in Virginia, USA. The event brought together community members, leaders, professionals, youth, families, and distinguished guests for an evening dedicated to honoring Afghanistan’s history, resilience, and cultural heritage. The gathering provided an opportunity for the Afghan-American community to reflect on the significance of independence and the enduring values of unity and community.

The program featured keynote remarks, panel discussions, and opportunities for networking and community engagement. Distinguished speakers and community leaders, including Zarmina Hamidi, an Afghan-American writer; Abdul Bari Jahani, a prominent Afghan poet, researcher, and former Minister of Information and Culture of Afghanistan; Jarullah Mansori, former Afghan Minister of Rural Rehabilitation and Development; Mohammad Hashim Wahdatyar, a political analyst and commentator; Niamat Rasool Niamatyar, Vice President of UMCA; and Mustaq Rahim, a political and security analyst and academic, shared their perspectives on Afghanistan’s movement toward independence, lessons learned from the historic events of that time, and the significance of preserving those lessons for future generations. The discussions also explored Afghanistan’s historical journey, the role of the Afghan diaspora, and the importance of unity, civic engagement, and a shared vision for the future.
