Great conversations at Minnesota’s Farmfest!

NTF joined Minnesota Turkey to discuss some of the most important issues facing turkey farmers and processors today. During meetings with policymakers and industry leaders, we emphasized the need for tariff-rate quota (TRQ) parity for U.S. turkey products under USMCA, the development of a practical HPAI vaccine framework that protects both animal health and trade, and solutions to ongoing agricultural labor challenges.

We appreciate the opportunity to advocate for policies that support the people who raise, process, and provide turkey products across the country.

NTF was honored to attend Monday’s Ag 250 Celebration at George Washington’s Mount Vernon, commemorating 250 years of American agriculture. 🦃🇺🇸

This special event brought together agricultural leaders from across the country to reflect on the rich history of U.S. agriculture and recognize the people who continue to drive it forward.

As representatives of the U.S. turkey industry, we are proud to celebrate the farmers, processors, and industry partners whose hard work and commitment help feed millions of families each year. Their dedication is an important part of America’s agricultural story—past, present, and future.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this milestone celebration possible. It was a privilege to be part of such a meaningful occasion and to represent the turkey industry during this historic moment for our nation.

Meet the Industry: Christy Puffenbarger, 2026 National Turkey Federation Chairwoman and Vice President of Technical Services at Aviagen Turkeys.

Christy brings more than three decades of experience in turkey production and live operations to her role. At Aviagen Turkeys, she leads the company’s global technical services team, working with customers in the U.S. and around the world to support flock health, welfare and performance.

As the first woman to serve as NTF chairwoman, Christy’s leadership reflects the experience, science and collaboration that help move the turkey industry forward.
