Decentralized Power works with Electric Member Cooperatives (EMC’s) to offer their members the ability to adopt renewable electricity technology including Solar Photovoltaic Panels and Electricity Storage Systems through purchase agreements
with the cooperative. Cost Of Sales And Profit in the retail model doubles the cost of renewable systems to the consumer and constitute a considerable challenge to rural Electrical Contractors and Solar Retailers to afford, develop and maintain the personnel and resources required to compete with large national companies. The EMC has inherent advantages over retailers because they are already physically connected to the location, are billing for services monthly and have an existing long term business relationship with their members delivering electricity. Cost of Equipment will be lowered by purchasing it at wholesale cost through special vendor programs for delivery through the EMC member program. Design And Permitting services will be managed online utilizing a national call center eliminating the duplication of resources, costs and staffing the EMC’s would require to perform these services individually. Installation Labor will be contracted to local Electrician’s scheduled by the call center operation. A network of local Electrician’s and Installers will be organized with special emphasis given to returning veterans from EMC service areas. Changing the Financing of renewables will unlock the potential for increased volume of adoption and result in tens of thousands of hours of installation labor nationally. Decentralized Power will coordinate with EMC’s to prioritize a mix of Solar Gardens and the Member locations best suited for renewables to create a safe, scalable and affordable deployment plan. Transformation to the smart grid architecture of the future will shift the application of Member revenue from purchasing fossil fuel generated electricity to purchasing renewable sources that reduce the green house gasses emitted into the atmosphere and contribute to the climate change.
