IWDC’s Welcome Refugee program with our extraordinary volunteer team has helped over 200 Afghan refugee families settle into their new home as they begin to rebuild their lives torn apart by decades of war. We have furnished apartments, registered kids for school, enrolled moms in ESL classes, helped dads get jobs and drivers license.
Please support IWDC’s Welcome Refugee program with a generous donation today so that we can continue to welcome our new neighbors as they work through the trauma to begin to rebuild their lives.

“In order for any nation to achieve its full economic, social and political potential, all of her citizens must have an equal opportunity to participate in the democratic process.”—Barbara Ferris, IWDC Founder & President

IWDC, through our Welcome Refugees program is helping Afghan refugee families settle into their new home country. Working hard to find apartments, furnish their new homes w/generous donations, fill the Frits/groceries, get children vaccinated and registered for school, help dads write resumes and look for jobs and get moms signed up for ESL classes. The trauma they experienced escaping the ruthless violence of the Taliban will begin to dissipate once they feel safe and secure in their own homes and get on a daily routine.
