Subject: A New Chapter: Michael Graham Running for City Council in 2026
Dear friends, fans, and fellow Washingtonians,
From the hardwood floors of McDonough Arena to the historic streets of our city, I've always been driven by a passion for competition, commitment, and community. For decades, you knew me as Michael "The Enforcer" Graham, a forward for the Georgetown Hoyas who fought relentlessly for a national championship in 1984. That same passion and determination that fueled me on the court now fuels my desire to serve you in a new way.
I am officially announcing my candidacy for the at-large City Council seat in 2026.
This city is my home. I grew up here, played high school basketball at Spingarn High, and have witnessed firsthand its growth and challenges. The heart of a true Washingtonian is not just in celebrating our victories but also in working together to tackle our toughest problems. My time at Georgetown, under the legendary Coach John Thompson, taught me the importance of teamwork, accountability, and putting your community first. I learned that hard work and tough defense are the keys to victory.
I believe our city deserves leadership that is tough and honest leadership that will fight for affordable housing, improve our schools, and create safer neighborhoods for all. I am ready to be that enforcer for you on the City Council. I will bring the same energy and dedication I brought to the court to ensure every resident can thrive.
In the coming months, I will be reaching out to hear your concerns and share my vision for a stronger, fairer D.C. Your support has always meant the world to me, and I would be honored to earn your vote.
Thank you and Go Hoyas!
Sincerely,
Michael Graham
Candidate for At-Large City Council
