We’re still energized and deeply grateful following the Inaugural Human Rights Campaign Black Men Rising community event in honor of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service. 🙌🏾
This powerful gathering brought together an incredible group of Black men to celebrate community, fellowship, and intentional dialogue about strengthening our collective political power. We are especially thankful to everyone who donated hygiene kits—your generosity will directly support men in need in Atlanta.
We want to give special recognition to Brian Martin, Percy Brown, and Javier Brown, the founding Black Men Rising Tri-Chairs, whose leadership, vision, and commitment made this moment possible. ✊🏾🖤
We are also grateful to Dewayne Queen, Director of LGBTQ+ Affairs for the City of Atlanta, for the powerful and inspiring remarks that grounded this moment in purpose and action.
A huge thank you to Black Coffee ATL for hosting us and creating a welcoming space for connection, and to DJ Ron Pullman for setting the perfect musical vibe and keeping the energy high.🎶🔥
We extend heartfelt thanks to the brothers of Nu Phi Zeta Fraternity, Inc., the men of The Fellows, and the men of D.I.S.T.I.N.C., Inc. for showing up in solidarity and joining us in community.
And a huge thank you to our incredible Human Rights Campaign staff partners, Letoi and Isaiah—what a great team! 💙💛 Your support and partnership were instrumental in bringing this vision to life.
Thank you to everyone who showed up and showed out. This is only the beginning—Black Men Rising activations are coming to a city near you. Stay tuned!
