Common Good City Farm and Roots for Life, along with other community partners are excited to share our plans to start a community fridge and pantry located within the Park at LeDroit, alongside the Common Good City Farm site.

More details to come, but the community fridge and pantry launch will be the same day as our annual Thanksfest food giveaway, Friday November 22.

This space will operate as many community fridges do, where partners and community member will be able to donate food and other items and those who are in need will be able to come freely and take what is available.

We are looking for funds that will be used to stock the fridge and pantry, as well as to fund our ThanksFest food giveaway and HolidayFest giveaway with food and toys.

Inspiring Change

Roots for Life is a grassroots volunteer social movement that was founded in 2017 with the mission of dedicating resources to educate and empower communities to thrive. The approach to filling vital needs in the community is multi-faceted:

(1) to connect individuals, currently in food insecure areas, to locally grown fruits and vegetables (2) to educate them on nutritional value (3) to empower healthy incremental change Roots for Life’s programs work in conjunction with a comprehensive educational component that is designed to deepen the connectivity by providing tips and techniques towards healthy living.
