“You are seldom challenged physically, mentally, emotionally in a very complex way like this. It seems very simple at times—it’s an issue of jealousy and revenge. But the complexity of that is the thing I’m learning in the process. It’s devious in that way.”

In a new feature, Washington Post sat down with OTHELLO star Wendell Pierce to discuss Pierce's titanic body of work and his nuanced approach to the Bard.

OTHELLO begins next week at Harman Hall.

“The Wire” actor Wendell Pierce, now starring in “Othello” at D.C.’s Shakespeare Theatre, wants to be in film, television and theater every year.

Oh my LORT!

The League of Resident Theatres will receive a special award at the 79th Tony Awards, a well-deserved recognition of the vital role regional theatres play in American theatre.

LORT is the nation’s largest professional theatre association, connecting leading nonprofit theatres across the country. Through its collective bargaining agreement with Actors' Equity Association, LORT theatres are able to engage top professional actors from across the country, bringing exceptional talent to stages in communities nationwide.

STC is proud to be a member of this thriving artistic community. Congratulations to all LORT theatres, and the countless arts administrators who make our work possible.
