Police Week HG The National Honor Guard Tribute & Competition is part of National Police Week.

Law enforcement teams perform ceremonious & patriotic performances for public viewing to honor the profession & pay tribute to peace officers killed in the line of duty. The National Honor Guard Exhibition and Tribute occurs on May 14th of each year, and provides an opportunity for law enforcement organizations to perform ceremonious and patriotic performances for public viewing. These teams are a

highly dedicated group of law enforcement officers that represent organizations from all across this nation and Canada. They converge on the Nation’s Capital every year for National Police Week, where peace officers are honored for their dedicated service to the protection of our communities. The honor guard team’s tribute is judged by the United States Army Drill Team, where the performances are ranked. The day of May 15th is known as National Peace Officers’ Memorial Day, a day when the nation honors those officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice. This event is a tribute the teams give to honor our fallen officers and their families.
