Spent the afternoon at a quiet vineyard with two women I deeply admire — stepping away from the noise to breathe, reflect, and dream bigger.

In that stillness, our brainstorming felt powerful. We talked about the leaders we want to become and the goals we’re committed to reaching before the year ends.

When we surround ourselves with people who inspire us, clarity comes easier and courage grows stronger.

Here’s to finishing the year with intention, purpose, and community. 🍇✨

🌾 A Letter From the Field

During my recent fieldwork in Cambodia, I received this handwritten note from an 11th‑grade class at Raksmey Sophorn High School. These students are getting ready for their final exams — and they took the time to write about how much your support has meant to them.

They shared how new computers and a clean learning environment have changed the way they study.
They shared how technology is opening doors they never imagined.
They shared their promise to work hard and build a better future.

Reading their words reminded me that our mission doesn’t end with one project or one donation. It continues — in every child who feels seen, supported, and capable of more.

If you’ve been following our journey and believe in the power of education, I invite you to stay with us.
Let’s keep building.
Let’s keep showing up.
Let’s keep creating opportunities that last.

🇺🇸❤️🇰🇭 Friday Khmer Word of the Day

ឯករាជ្យ (ek-ka-reach)
Independence

Today, as we celebrate America’s Independence Day, we also honor Cambodia’s journey to ឯករាជ្យ—independence.

Though our histories are different, the hope is the same: the freedom to dream, to learn, and to build a brighter future.

At Koun Khmer Foundation, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to turn that freedom into possibility through education.

Happy Fourth of July! May we continue to celebrate freedom by investing in the next generation. 📚❤️
