๐โป๏ธ What happens when dairy manure and food waste are recycled? Clean energy, nutrient-rich fertilizer, new farm revenue, and stronger rural communities.
Thatโs exactly what VanguardRenewables is helping deliver with a new anaerobic digestion and organics recycling facility in Litchfield, Minnesota. Once operational, the project will convert cow manure and food and beverage waste into renewable natural gas (RNG) and nutrient-rich fertilizer.
Developed in partnership with Wagner Dairy, TotalEnergies, and CenterPoint Energy, the facility is expected to produce approximately 270,000 MMBtu of RNG annuallyโenough energy to serve about 5,300 homesโwhile creating local jobs, supporting farmers, and putting valuable organic materials to good use.
Projects like this demonstrate how biogas systems can connect waste diversion, renewable energy production, and regenerative agriculture to deliver economic and environmental benefits for rural communities.
