As Election Day unfolds, we look back on the journey that brought us here. Our Nuns on the Bus and Friends tour traveled across the country, meeting communities, lifting voices, and sharing a vision of a future where everyone can thrive—no exceptions. 🚍✨

🌎✨ Our Vote Our Future Tour may be complete, but the call to vote is still underway! Bus Rider Ana Garcia Ashley, Director of Gamaliel Network, reflected on the inspiring journey to rally communities nationwide around multi-issue voting. Together, we uplifted the values of justice, fair wages, healthcare, and safe, sustainable communities for all.

☀ On our final day of the Tour, we visited Mission Action in San Francisco’s Mission District, where we witnessed the power of community-driven change. Their work empowering Latinx/Indigenous, low-income, and immigrant families is a testament to the importance of policies that ensure everyone has the freedom to thrive—through housing, organizing, and direct services. 🗳️

🌻Nuns on the Bus & Friends had a blast yesterday at a high-energy rally with Notre Dame High School in Downtown San Jose! We got to hear from student leaders on issues they care about, including climate justice, dignified wages, and affordable housing and health care — all rooted in Catholic Social Justice.

Young people across the U.S. are engaged and committed to a future where everyone thrives, no exceptions — and their energy is growing! 🌱

On the bus tour, it was impossible not to feel hopeful. Everywhere, people were doing incredible work to make their communities better.

Yesterday, Nuns on the Bus & Friends had a moving visit with the United Farm Workers (UFW) and National Chavez Center in Keene, CA.

At the Cesar E. Chavez National Monument, we visited the burial site of Cesar and Helen Chavez, as well as a museum where we learned about the history of the National Farm Workers Association. Cesar Chavez's grandson Andres Chavez gave us a tour of the campus, which includes the UFW headquarters as well as a retreat and training center for organizers. The site was designated as a National Historic Landmark in 2012.

The visit was a reminder that the work today to uphold the dignity and rights of workers — a core Catholic Social Justice value — is rooted in a deep, living history of communities like UFW. 🌳

At our site visit with Three Square food bank in Las Vegas this week, we saw how direct aid and policy advocacy go hand-in-hand. As bus rider Sr. Andrea Koverman, SC writes, "Three Square does everything possible to make sure no one in their community goes hungry, but they also have a robust advocacy program — connecting community members and legislators to ensure families in Nevada have the freedom to be healthy and to care for their families."

No matter where we live or what's in our wallets, we all deserve access to nourishing food. Our vote can help make food security a reality for all of us — no exceptions!
