“I want to say THANK YOU so much for your recent double bass donation, along with the bass stand. My 4th grader was so excited to learn that we would have a bass for her to use this year. “

“I do have to thank you again for supporting our Strings students at Eastover-Central Elementary School. This bass will be used for years to come to offer valuable music opportunities in our school.
With gratitude,”

“Ms. Kendrea Hodges, band teacher, has reached out to the wonderful organization Hungry for Music at the beginning of each school year since 2022. Hungry for Music donates instruments to deserving students who do not have a personal instrument of their own. I chose who receives the instruments from second year or longer band students who have proven themselves to be dedicated to band and still borrow a school instrument. “

“Congratulations to these deserving students! The William J. Clark family is excited to see where their musical journeys take them!”

“Thanks, Ms. Hodges, for all you do for our musicians and all of our students!”

Hungry for Music uses three brass & woodwind repair technicians and we need more! Informative article !

"A bent bell, a worn pad, a clogged valve, or a warped clarinet joint can cause a young musician to lose interest in playing an instrument faster than a bad first lesson."

In his latest article, Chief Education Officer Michael Kamphuis looks at the growing shortage of band instrument repair technicians, what it means for school programs, and the training programs stepping up to address the problem.
