Pride Bands Alliance

Pride Bands Alliance Music. Visibility. Pride. Pride Bands Alliance is a membership organization of LGBTQ+ community concert and marching bands from cities around the world.

Formerly Le***an and Gay Band Association, we were founded in 1982 as Le***an and Gay Bands of America when seven independent bands met formally in Chicago. Over the past 40 years, Pride Bands Alliance has grown to include 36 member organizations in the United States, Canada, Australia and England. Pride Bands remains dedicated to its original goals of promoting LGBTQ+ Music, Visibility and Pride

by providing a network of LGBTQ+ community bands at all stages of development, promoting music as a medium of communication among people, improving the quality of artistic and organizational aspects of member bands and stimulating public interest in the unique art form of community band music in our culture.

Today is March 4th, and we’re taking that literally! 🏳️‍🌈🥁

We are thrilled to announce a historic "march forth" into the future: Pride Bands Alliance has been officially invited to perform in the 2027 Rose Parade®! This marks the first time in the parade’s 138-year history that an LGBTQ+ community marching band will march as an official contingent in the Rose Parade®.

The 2027 theme? "Welcome." Because music sounds best when everyone has a place in the band.

Pride Bands Alliance is excited to announce we will be collaborating with Pride Cheerleading Association - PCA at the Sin City Classic in Las Vegas, NV on Jan 17-19, 2025.

An inaugural group of color guard members from Pride Bands Alliance will spend the weekend participating in PCA's "Charitable Cheerleading" events. Together they will raise money for Golden Rainbow, a local 501c3 nonprofit that supports people living with HIV/AIDS by providing housing, medical assistance, and other much needed services & care.

Participants will "volunCHEER" their way to several Sin City Classic sporting tournaments and will perform an exhibition routine during the Cheerleading competition at the Flamingo Hotel.

Pride Bands Alliance looks forward to growing this annual event as a unique color guard performance opportunity and to continuing building a partnership with PCA for future collaborations.

To support fundraising for Golden Rainbow, you can donate fee-free through PayPal. https://www.paypal.com/us/fundraiser/charity/2414605

In June 1984 MHFB marched proudly for our inaugural performance at the 2nd annual Rocky Mountain Regional Rodeo hosted by the Colorado Gay Rodeo Association. That day, around 20 musicians and color guard marched on the dry clumpy mud of the Coal Creek Park Rodeo Arena in Aurora. And what did we play for "Denver's Biggest Party?" The themes from Magnificent Seven and Wild Wild West, of course!
