Place-based programs, services, and service coordination for low to moderate income families living in affordable housing communities. Operation Pathways, Inc.

Operation Pathways improves quality of life by equipping low- to moderate- income individuals with tools to become self-sufficient and break the cycle of poverty. We accomplish this by providing and coordinating placed-based programs and services for residents in affordable housing communities. We provide one-on-one service coordination and opportunity-driven programing focused on academic achievement, health and wellness, and financial stability. Through our on-site resident services coordinators at our 19 housing-based community centers throughout the country, we impact the lives of over 5,000 low- to moderate-income individuals annually. is an affiliate of the NHP Foundation (NHPF). NHPF is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to creating and preserving affordable multifamily rental housing for low- to moderate- income families and seniors. Operation Pathways offers the keys to turn this affordable housing into thriving and engaged communities and improve quality of life for residents.

Meet Inez Douglas of Operation Pathways! 👋

Inez joined Operation Pathways in February 2023, bringing a background in operations, project management, nonprofit work and education to the organization.

With nine years of experience in the nonprofit industry and four years in education, Inez brings a people first perspective to her work. She holds a Master of Science in Management with a specialization in Nonprofit and Association Management from the University of Maryland.

For Inez, the work is about being part of something bigger and knowing that Operation Pathways is making a positive difference in the people and places it serves.

Her philosophy says it best: people matter.

There’s a lot of conversation surrounding affordable housing, but not everything you hear tells the full story. Understanding the facts matters, from who affordable housing serves to how communities are developed, financed, preserved, and supported for the long term.

At The NHP Foundation, our role goes beyond providing affordable homes. We work to preserve and develop quality housing, invest in communities, and help create opportunities for residents to thrive. Property Spotlight: Rasmus Temenos. 🏡

Located in Houston’s Midtown District, Rasmus Temenos provides 95 permanent supportive housing apartments designed to pair stable housing with services that support residents’ well being.

Developed through a partnership between The NHP Foundation and Temenos Community Development Corporation, the community features efficiency apartments with full kitchens and baths, along with dedicated spaces for supportive programs and resident services. The entire ground floor is devoted to services provided by Temenos CDC.

Rasmus Temenos reflects NHPF’s commitment to creating more than housing. It demonstrates what is possible when quality homes, supportive services and strong community partnerships come together to help residents build greater stability.

Like a Jenga tower, when families lose stable housing, other parts of their lives can become harder to balance. Health, education, financial stability, employment, food security, and connection to community can all feel the impact.

That’s why housing stability matters. NHP Foundation works to preserve and create affordable housing, helping establish a strong foundation for individuals and families. From there, Operation Pathways connects residents with programs, resources, and opportunities they can choose to engage with as they pursue their goals and build their futures.

Technology is always evolving, and staying connected means evolving with it. 💻

Operation Pathways recently hosted a technology seminar designed to help senior residents feel more confident navigating today’s digital world. From staying up to date on the latest news and connecting with family and friends to recognizing scam calls and understanding new technology, residents gained practical skills they can use every day.

Because digital literacy is about more than knowing how to use a device. It’s about staying informed, independent, connected, and safe in an increasingly digital world.
