Update: The House passed the EARLY Act Reauthorization this week!

This important legislation supports CDC programs and services aimed at increasing awareness of breast cancer among young women, particularly those at higher risk. The bill also includes the SCREENS for Cancer Act, which helps ensure women have access to breast and cervical cancer screening, diagnostic, and treatment services.

Thank you to Rep. Miller-Meeks, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor, Rep. Debbie Dingell, Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick, Rep. Diana Harshbarger, and Congressman Joe Morelle for championing this effort, and to the House of Representatives for advancing this bill.

Enacting this bipartisan legislation could have a critical impact on saving more women’s lives from breast cancer and improving their survivorship. We call on both chambers of Congress to work together and get this important legislation across the finish line.

💙✨ Lights of Hope – Natchitoches ✨💙

Last weekend,, our Natchitoches community came together along the beautiful Riverfront for a heartfelt Lights of Hope display. More than 60 Lights of Hope bags lined the waterfront, each one dedicated to a loved one who has lost their battle with cancer or is courageously continuing their fight.

The evening served as a touching reminder of the strength, resilience, and hope that exists within our communities. Seeing the lights glow against the riverfront created a meaningful tribute to those impacted by cancer and highlighted the importance of supporting one another through every step of the journey.

We are so grateful to everyone who helped make this event special. We look forward to seeing this beautiful tradition continue to expand in the years ahead.

We’re almost there, Louisiana!

After a long journey, the Louisiana Medical Debt Protection Act has officially made it through both chambers of the legislature. It’s now headed to the Governor’s desk for the final decision.

This milestone represents real progress for people across our state who’ve had to navigate the stress of medical bills on top of a health crisis. No one plans for medical debt, and this legislation is about creating stronger protections for patients when the unexpected happens.

Now comes the final—and most important—moment.

Ask the Governor to sign the bill into law: https://act.fightcancer.org/a/louisiana-medcial-debt-protection-act

Your support helped move this effort every step of the way. Let’s bring it home for Louisiana families.
