When the roll call kicks off to identify philanthropists providing humanitarian services in impoverished nations around the globe, the name Upjit Singh Sachdeva (AKA Jeety) will top the list. This bussiness tycoon who has described himself as an Indian by passport and a Liberian by heart has made it his top priority to feed hundreds of less fortunate in the Liberian society. Few days ago, while visiting my field office in Weala Town, I came across kids standing in long line patiently awaiting to be served with hot meal. I got so moved by what I saw and subsequently decided to stay around to see what was going to happen. Later, I saw both Indians and Liberians serving our kids with hot meal and bags of water prepares by the kitchen staffs of Jeety Rubber LCC, a company that will soon engage in rubber production in Weala Town. Out of curiosity, I decided to ask one of the kids for a spoon of rice for tasting. I tasted the food and, I can honestly tell you that the food i tasted is no different from the food we prepared in our respective homes. I made my way to see Jeety. In conversation with the bussiness mogul, I got to know that his feeding program is intended to provide cooked meal to individuals that cannot afford daily meal. The Jeety feeding program started on February 24, 2017 in Monrovia and now extended to Weala Town. Scores of Liberians and foreign nationals have benefited and still benefiting daily from Jeety's gesture. On behalf of the governing board, the management and staff of the Center for Conflict Prevention and Peacebuilding (CECPAP) I want to extend heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Jeety for using his personal resources to feed our people daily. In our Liberian way of saying: thank you plenty yahhh, Jeety.

Peace is a daily, weekly, a monthly process, gradually changing opinions, slowly eroding old barriers, quietly building new structures.
