We’re celebrating with one of our favorite moments from the 2026 Gracie Awards Gala, when longtime Hallmark actress Andie MacDowell accepted the Gracies Icon Award and shared:

“I have had the absolute audacity to age.”

Andie also recognized Hallmark for championing roles for mature women and creating meaningful opportunities on screen.

The Alliance for Women in Media is deeply saddened by the passing of Sylvia Bugg, PBS's Chief Programming Executive and General Manager for General Audience Programming.

Honored at the 2024 Gracies Leadership Awards, Sylvia was recognized for her extraordinary leadership and lasting contributions to public media and educational programming. Her impact will continue to be felt throughout the industry and by the many lives touched through her work.

We extend our deepest condolences to Sylvia’s family, friends and colleagues across the PBS community.

As we continue celebrating the people and moments that made the 2026 Gracie Awards season so meaningful, we’re shining a light on the work behind the Gala.

This year’s Gala was brought to life by female-owned production companies Do Great Projects and Mythical Creatures, with talent support from Good People Talent, and by the women (and men) who helped lead the creative direction, production and script writing behind the scenes.

From the words spoken on stage to the run of show, talent coordination, timing and countless details in between, this talented group brought precision, creativity and heart to every part of the evening.

With gratitude to those whose care and expertise helped create a celebration worthy of the women and stories honored at the 51st Annual Gracie Awards Gala.
