⭐ Dr. Marie Jeanne Embolo Abena is an accomplished academic leader, healthcare professional, and passionate advocate for sociocultural development. With an academic journey that began in Cameroon and continued in the United States, she has built a career dedicated to education, public health, and community empowerment.
⭐ She holds a Master’s degree in Letters and is a graduate of the Higher Teacher Training College in Cameroon, where she trained as a French educator. Her pursuit of knowledge continued in the United States where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), a Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA), and a Doctorate of Science in Public Health (DrPH). She currently serves as a healthcare professional in the state of Minnesota.
⭐ From an early age, Dr. Embolo Abena demonstrated a strong commitment to youth development and education. As a secondary school student, she hosted the holiday youth program “Cargo des Vacanciers” on CRTV Adamaoua, promoting volunteerism, entrepreneurship, agriculture, and productive use of school holidays among young people.
⭐ During her time at the University of Ngaoundéré, she served as Editor-in-Chief and presenter of “Les Échos du Campus,” a weekly university magazine broadcast on CRTV Adamaoua, highlighting academic initiatives, student leadership, and research within the university community.
⭐ Her dedication to humanitarian service includes volunteering with Club des Colombes, supporting orphanages through the distribution of food, school supplies, clothing, and essential goods for vulnerable children. She also collaborated with UNESCO on educational outreach initiatives in northern Cameroon and participated in HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention campaigns with UNAIDS, contributing to public health education and anti-stigmatization efforts.
⭐ Today, she continues her leadership within the diaspora as President of Nkul Beti Minnesota and Vice President of EBYA, where she promotes cultural preservation, community development, and stronger connections between the Cameroonian diaspora and their homeland. Through cultural events, youth mentorship, and initiatives supporting immigrant families, she works tirelessly to strengthen identity, unity, and transnational collaboration.
