So, this is interesting. Yesterday, the founder and CEO of Duolingo was being interviewed in NPR (Market Place) and, in the end, the host asked if he studied any language. And, not only does he study a language but it is Portuguese! The host then commented that Portuguese was very close to Spanish and thus, very easy to pick up for Spanish speakers. To what Duolingo's founder answered: "Not really". According to him, for some reason, Portuguese speakers can speak Spanish very easily but that is not true the other way around. And he is right! So, if you are a Spanish speaker wanting to REALLY learn Portuguese, join us for our Spring course Portuguese for Spanish Speakers 1 starting THIS COMING TUESDAY, March 19th.
