On Women’s Equality Day, The Black Women’s Agenda, Inc. honors the passage of the 19th Amendment while lifting the names of the Black women who made the suffrage movement possible.

Leaders like Ida B. Wells, Mary Church Terrell, Frances Ellen Watkins Harper, and Sojourner Truth carried the dual burden of fighting for gender equality while demanding recognition of Black humanity. Their voices were too often sidelined, yet their courage carved the path for generations to come.

Today, their legacy calls us to action. Women’s rights are human rights. Racial justice is women’s justice. We cannot be complacent when inequities in health, wealth, and political representation continue to undermine the promise of equality for Black women and girls.

This day is not just history — it is a charge to keep building, keep voting, keep raising our voices until true equity is realized.

Independence. Freedom. Justice.

"Independence Day is a reminder that America is not the project of any one person. The single most powerful word in our democracy is the word ‘We.’ ‘We The People.’ ‘We Shall Overcome.’ ‘Yes We Can.’ America is owned by no one. It belongs to all citizens. And at this moment in history—when core democratic principles seem to be continuously under attack, when too many people around the world have become cynical and disengaged—now is precisely the time to ask ourselves tough questions about how we can build our democracies and make them work in meaningful and practical ways for ordinary people."
- Barack Obama, 44th President of The United States

✊🏾 Take 5 Minutes. Make a Call. Write a Message. Raise Your Voice.

H.R.1 — The “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” — is anything but beautiful for our communities. This bill threatens the basic human right to live with dignity. If passed, it will:

🚨 Strip Medicaid access from seniors, rural families, and people with chronic illnesses.
🚨 Defund SNAP and food assistance — lifelines for Black, brown, and low-income families.
🚨 Undermine maternal health, nontraditional learners, and rural hospitals — pushing entire communities deeper into poverty.

This is a direct attack on health equity, racial justice, and economic survival.

📞✍🏽 Take 5 minutes TODAY to call or write your congressional representative. Tell them NO to H.R.1 — The “One Big Beautiful Bill Act.”

📢 Suggested Message:
"I'm calling to strongly oppose H.R.1 — the ‘One Big Beautiful Bill Act.’ This bill would devastate access to healthcare, food, and education in vulnerable communities. I urge you to vote NO and protect the well-being of the people you represent."

Let’s flood Congress with unified voices. Silence is not an option. Our lives depend on it.

Know Your Status. Own Your Power.

Today, on National HIV Testing Day, we recognize the power of knowledge. Getting tested is not just an act of self-care—it's a step toward ending the HIV epidemic and ensuring health equity for all.

📍 Black and Latinx communities, LGBTQ+ individuals, and other underserved groups continue to face higher barriers to care. On this day, we recommit to making testing accessible, stigma-free, and rooted in compassion.

✅ Free, fast, and confidential testing is available in many communities.

Your health matters. Your life matters. Let’s break the stigma and uplift each other—one test at a time.

🖤❤️💚 Juneteenth is a Call to Action 🖤❤️💚

“Freedom is for everyone. I think freedom should be celebrated from the 19th of June to the Fourth of July; however, none of us are free until we are all free. We are not free yet, and Juneteenth is a symbol of that... We are responsible for changing that... Everybody should make themselves a committee of one to change somebody’s mind—and many minds do need to be changed.” – Opal Lee, Grandmother of Juneteenth

Today, we don’t just celebrate freedom—we recommit to the work of making it real for all. Juneteenth reminds us that the fight for justice, equity, and liberation is ongoing.

🔥 This Juneteenth, become a committee of one. Speak up. Show up. Shake things up.
Whether it’s advocating for equitable healthcare, housing, education, or environmental justice—your voice matters.

✊🏽 Let’s turn reflection into action. Because until we’re all free, none of us are truly free.
