Talent opened the door. Vision, education, hard work, and purpose helped them build something bigger.

This National Black Business Month, we celebrate our founders, Chloe and Maud Arnold, two black women who have transformed their passion for tap into a powerful creative and entrepreneurial legacy.

From Washington, D.C., to Columbia University and stages around the world, they have built companies, created international festivals and productions, amplified the presence of women in tap, and earned recognition for their innovation and impact.

But their vision has never been only about their own success.

Through the Chloé and Maud Foundation, they use everything they have learned and built to open doors for the next generation, expanding access, amplifying voices, and creating opportunities for young people to become artists, entrepreneurs, leaders, and world changers.

This is what Black business leadership looks like: creating, innovating, building, and bringing others forward with you.

Happy National Black Business Month! ✨

Did you know the Chloé and Maud Foundation’s work also reaches Africa? 🌍❤️

Over the past few weeks, our founders have been there sharing moments they’ll carry in their hearts forever — and our president, Maud, finally had the opportunity to meet some of the children we support in Rwanda. 🇷🇼

And of course, there was dancing! Because wherever there is music, movement, and community, there is an opportunity to share joy, confidence, and new possibilities. ✨

We believe in the power of art to transform lives, and we want to continue bringing opportunities to even more children and young people around the world.

And you can be part of it. ❤️

This past Sunday, we celebrated National Sisters Day. 💛 And who better to celebrate than the sisters who inspired our name and our mission?

Chloe and Maud Arnold have spent a lifetime dancing side by side, dreaming boldly, and creating opportunities for the next generation. Their bond is at the heart of everything we do, from building community through dance to empowering young people around the world. 🌎

Here’s to the power of sisterhood, and to the two sisters who remind us that some of the greatest dreams are built together. ✨

July 30 was proclaimed International Friendship Day by the United Nations, and every year we’re reminded of the beautiful connections we see growing among our students. 💛

Through tap dance, they discover so much more than rhythm and technique. They learn to support one another, celebrate each other’s successes, and build friendships that make every experience richer.

The UN created this day with the belief that friendship between people, cultures, and communities can help build bridges, foster peace, and encourage respect for diversity. That’s exactly why creating spaces where young people can connect, grow, and belong is at the heart of what we do.

Because sometimes, one of the most meaningful things our students take home isn’t just a new step—it’s a new friend. 🫶

One of our Tap Into Life classes in the United States. 💛🇺🇸

There’s something special about watching young people create music with their feet. As they dance, they’re also developing focus, coordination, creativity, and confidence in a joyful, supportive environment.

In partnership with Get Empowered! and Global Arts To Go, we’re proud to help create experiences that encourage children to keep learning, growing, and believing in themselves—one step at a time.

This is what Tap Into Life is all about: using dance to open doors, build confidence, and help young people discover what’s possible.

At the Chloé and Maud Foundation, we believe dance is about so much more than learning steps.

It’s about helping young people discover who they are, trust their voices, and believe they are capable of achieving the dreams they carry.

Through Sole Talk Youth, we use tap dance as a pathway to confidence, leadership, and self-belief—because true empowerment doesn’t begin with what your feet can do, but with what your mind believes is possible.

This powerful moment, led by our co-founder Chloe Arnold during Hollywood Tap Fest, is a reminder that when young people believe in themselves, they don’t just become stronger dancers—they become stronger human beings.

That’s the impact we’re working toward, one step at a time. ✨

In a country where sustaining arts and education programs in underserved communities is a daily challenge, consistent support makes all the difference. 💛

Marina Coura, coordinator of tapintolifefloripa, shares how the support of the Chloé and Maud Foundation is creating lasting impact in Brazil. Though based in the U.S., the foundation’s commitment to Brazilian children and youth is genuine, meaningful, and long-term.

Through dance, education, and mentorship, these young people broaden their perspectives, discover new possibilities, and begin to believe in their own potential. 🌍✨

Art educates. Art empowers. Art opens doors.

You can help keep these opportunities alive. Make a donation through our website—whether it’s a one-time gift or a recurring contribution—and help us continue supporting children and youth around the world.
