What happens when parents of different nationalities split up and can't agree on where their kids should be raised?

Today marks 8-years from the day Eslam and Zainab Chebbi were abducted by their father and taken to Tunisia. From this one, tragic event, Return US Home was started. It seems a miracle that today, Eslam, Zainab and I are together again.

The years are few from now until these amazing little people become the incredible adults and world citizens they seem destined to be. Therefore, I'll be taking a large step back in my advocacy - focusing my efforts for Return US Home on maintaining and updating our website and continuing to produce an engaging and informative blog and interview series.

11-11-11 was a tragic day for me. But I wouldn't know it until the following day.

It's been a while since we've shared an update with you and it's mostly because we've just been so busy behind the scenes! In addition to supporting another family to reunification from an abduction to Lebanon, our Executive Director, Edeanna Barbirou, has spent this summer participating in the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children's Hope Awards; an National Criminal Justice Training Center roundtable discussion for families of missing and abducted children; the The United States Department of Justice 2019 National Missing and Exploited Children's Day ceremony; and, a special training for Team HOPE volunteers (a peer support group of parents of children who are missing or have been exploited who help others experiencing the same or similar trauma). Oh, and we spent a few weeks toiling away to submit our first federal grant proposal and continue our efforts to secure the necessary funding to support Return US Home's efforts, full time.

Here are a few photos of some of our activities as of late.

We hope to reinvigorate our social media presence and begin updating the website again soon!

Thank you for your continued support and engagement to learn and educate others about Parental Child Abduction and remedies for its prevention!
