Rudolph the Red Nose Blood Drive and Cookie Party

We are not having our traditional cookie party from before COVID times but we are still supporting the families in the NICU at Children's Hospital!

We are making holiday-themed goody bags that will be filled with cookies, chocolates and an ornament that will go to the 70 families with a note to let them know we are thinking about them. We also are going to purchase items and gift cards for NICU families that need support while their babies are hospitalized and/or when discharged. These items and gift cards will be distributed by the NICU staff to the families with the greatest needs. Having a baby in the NICU is an emotional, challenging journey for all families. Our families were blessed throughout Malachi's and Alexander's stays by the support of our families and friends as well as having stable jobs and health insurance. Unfortunately, many families who have babies in Children's NICU do not have the same blessings. Your generosity will not only remind them that others care but will also provide them with vital support.

If you would like to help us fill the goody bags and provide support to the families, cash donations can be made via: Venmo (Elizabeth-Ottaway), PayPal (eottaway), or CashApp (Elizabeth- $ElizabethOttaway or Denise- $Mrmmrm). We are also accepting gift card from Target, Walgreens, Amazon, Walmart and Gas Stations in $10-$25 amounts. Children's bloodmobile is still limited by COVID-19 restrictions and will not be coming to Alexandria next month. We also can't deliver your homemade cookies to the NICU families. However, we are planning to deliver some goodies for the families and will have other ways to support them. Stay tuned for our new plans -- we will be posting them very soon!

Children’s Blood Donor center reached out and asked us to do a big push for the blood drive this Saturday because their supplies are low. If your plans are uncertain for the day, walk-ins will be accepted or you can always donate at the hospital on another day
