GreenLine Initiatives is a fundraising network that throws art, live music, and concert events for local DC non-profit organizations and charities. All proceeds made from events thrown by GreenLine go to benefit these organizations. So far we have thrown events for Capital Area Food Bank, one
of DC's largest and most effective DC food Banks and hunger education centers; as well as Life Pieces to Masterpieces, an enormously successful and inspiring after school program that works with youth to develop their artistic abilities. Each organization that we partner with signs on to help us throw the next event for another organization. Our goal is to foster a sn*******ng effect of social involvement, community organization, and philanthropic networking. We also encourage charities and non profits to advertise on our page in order to get their names and causes out into the open. About the Name:
The name GreenLine stems from the origin of the organization, Columbia Heights, a stop on the Green Line Metro. The name also pertains to the idea of grass roots organizing, the belief that those at the ground level can collaborate to make a selfless, positive difference in their community regardless of adversity and personal disposition.
