Despite all odds, LGBTQ + latinx activists are, and have been, at the forefront of many Latino and LGBTQ + civil and human rights victories. We cultivate the rich social, cultural and artistic tapestry of our movements and communities. With over 50 million Latinxs in traditional and emerging communities in the US, it is more critical than ever to invest in ou

r Latino LGBTQ + leadership. And while many q***r latinxs build bridges across the social justice landscape, there is still much untapped growth to reach our full collective potential. This gathering brings together diverse groups of LGBTQ + latinxs and allies from across the country to foster supportive relationships and build each others' capacity to advance LGBTQ + activism. The Latinx Institute is for commited latinx activists, allies, nonprofit employees, students, academics, policy strategists, artists, media producers… In other words, YOU! We want to:
● Increase the understanding in Latinx communities about sexual and gender diversity.
● Improve the quality of life for LGBTQ + Latinxs.
● Implement strategies to reduce stigmas related to homophobia, biphobia, transphobia, ableism, xenophobia, anti-blackness, ageism, and more.

A pesar de todas las desprobabilidades, lxs activistas latinx LGBTQ+ están, y han estado, a la vanguardia de muchas victorias de derechos humanos y civiles latinos y LGBTQ+. Cultivamos el rico tapiz social, cultural y artístico de nuestros movimientos y comunidades. Con más de 50 millones de latinxs en comunidades tradicionales y emergentes en los EE.UU. y Puerto Rico, es más crítico que nunca invertir en nuestro liderazgo latinx LGBTQ+. Y aunque muchos latinxs q***r construyen puentes en el panorama de la justicia social, todavía hay mucho crecimiento sin explotar para alcanzar nuestro potencial colectivo completo. Esta conferencia reúne a diversos grupos de latinxs LGBTQ+ y aliados de todo el país para fomentar relaciones de apoyo y desarrollar la capacidad de los demás para promover el activismo LGBTQ+. El Instituto Latinx es para activistas latinos comprometidos, aliados, empleados sin fines de lucro, estudiantes, académicos, estrategas de políticas, artistas, productores de medios… En otras palabras, ¡USTED! Queremos:
● Incrementar la comprensión en las comunidades latinx sobre la diversidad sexual y de género.
● Mejorar la calidad de vida de LGBTQ + Latinxs.
● Implementar estrategias para reducir los estigmas relacionados con la homofobia, bifobia, transfobia, discapacidad, xenofobia, anti-negritud, discriminación por edad y más.
