Georgetown York Rite Bodies Chartered on November 8, 1818, Washington Potomac Chapter no. 8 is a chapter of Royal Arch Masons.

News and events for the three York Rite bodies in the Georgetown neighborhood of the District of Columbia: Washington-Potomac Chapter No. 8 of Royal Arch Masons, Washington Council No. 1 of Cryptic Masons, & Potomac Commandery No. 3 of Knights Templar. Our chapter is one of the constituent chapters of the Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of the District of Columbia, and the only chapter currentl

y located in Georgetown. The chapter is a part of the York Rite, one of the several Rites belonging to Freemasonry. Royal Arch Masonry is composed of four degrees, called the Capitular Degrees. These degrees expand upon the lessons learned during the Blue Lodge Degrees.

Congratulations to the four newly exalted Royal Arch Masons who finished their Capitular degrees last night! We had a joint conferral between our own chapter, Washington-Potomac No. 8, and our host chapter, Mt Vernon Singleton No. 3 continuing a recent and productive fellowship. Many kudos to our own Excellent Companion Ruli in organizing and presiding over this degree!

Congratulations to our own Past Commander, Sk Michael Erickson, who was presented with the Meritorious Service Medal last night by the REGC of DC, SK Doug Cohen. Mike has been an incredibly hard worker preparing the asylum for every meeting and this was well deserved. Congrats, Mike!
