As people around the world expressed their outrage against Trump’s spiraling war of aggression — with the Iranian people defiantly rallying on bridges and demonstrations growing inside the U.S and worldwide — the Trump administration was compelled to temporarily step back from its genocidal threats. But the war against the Iranian people needs to end permanently, not just for two weeks!

The details of the ceasefire are still emerging, but Trump is still suggesting he could go back to bombing if he wants. Unless sanctions are lifted and US forces return home, the conditions for war remain. Trump has needlessly killed thousands in his war of choice, caused economic suffering the world over, and he must be held accountable.

Trump has given a deadline for genocide — either Iran surrenders by 8pm ET, or the country’s “whole civilization will die tonight”. This is the criminal threat of a madman, but a madman who controls the deadly might of the Pentagon war machine.

Trump’s unprovoked, illegal attack on Iran is an act of war that threatens to cause unthinkable death and destruction. But the people of this country reject another endless war and will take to the streets now and make our voices heard.

Iran has not attacked the United States. The government has been engaged in diplomatic negotiations up to the very last moment, and has again and again insisted that it has no intention of developing a nuclear weapons program (which Trump claims to have “obliterated” last year anyway). Trump promised to bring peace to the world while he was running for office, but he has done nothing but left a trail of devastation the world over. Rather than making executives at oil companies and weapons manufacturers richer, our tax dollars should be used to meet people’s needs.

🇵🇸 Yesterday, tens of thousands of people took the streets in NYC to stand with the people of Gaza and to demand an end to the US-Israeli campaign of starvation against the Palestinian people.

‼️ People from a huge number of backgrounds and sectors participated, including a contingent of journalists, of artists, and even a group of children who marched with a banner that read “the children of NYC stand with the children of Gaza.”

🗣️While Trump’s White House and political establishment continue to fund and support the fascist Israeli government and their genocide of the Palestinian people, the people of the US and the world stand with the Palestinian people and demand an end to the genocide and the occupation. Together we will win!

❗On Inauguration Day, January 20th, people will come together in cities and towns across the country in a nationwide mobilization opposing Trump’s ultra-right, billionaire agenda.

➡️ Trump ran a con game during the election. His real agenda is to destroy worker’s rights, deport millions of immigrant families, and pave the way for a complete corporate capitalist takeover by ending regulations to protect the environment, firing thousands of public sector workers, and transferring ever-larger parts of the National Treasury to the military industrial complex. He is 100 % behind Netanyahu’s genocidal war against the Palestinian and Arab people.
