🐾 Training Complete! 🐾
Over the past three days, professional canine-handler teams from dedicated first responder agencies—primarily law enforcement organizations—across New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Virginia came together to complete the 2026 CRK-9 Academy, the nation’s first comprehensive training course dedicated to Community Resource K-9s.
Throughout the Academy, teams participated in classroom instruction, formal obedience and handler training, canine first aid and CPR, public access assessments at Atlantic City International Airport, restorative justice education, crisis response training, and scenario-based exercises designed to prepare them for real-world community engagement and support.
The course concluded with formal temperament testing, independent third-party evaluations, therapy dog assessments, Canine Good Citizen testing and United States Police Canine Association, Inc. (USPCA) certification testing, providing each team with nationally recognized evaluation benchmarks.
We are proud to recognize the 16 canine-handler teams that successfully completed this intensive training experience, representing:
🐾 Gloucester Township Police
🐾 Mercer County Prosecutor's Office
🐾 Pennsauken Township Police Department
🐾 Woodbury City Police
🐾 Philadelphia Police Department
🐾 King William County, Virginia Sheriff's Office
🐾 Northern Virginia Community College
🐾 Community Resource K-9
Thank you to our instructors, evaluators, guest presenters, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Atlantic City International Airport, and all participating agencies for helping make this academy a success.
Together, we continue to advance the national standard for Community Resource K-9s and strengthen the impact these teams have in the communities they serve.
