Aromaterapia — give out samples of aromatics to simply boil at home. Doing this in the winter brings beneficial steam and also the healing scents of cinnamon, eucalyptus, clove, or rosemary. Mix and match, and add essential oils too.

It’s ALWAYS a good time for school staff appreciation! Esp in winter, and in the doldrums of a pandemic. we set up 4 - for families to share gratitude with teachers, and for staff to internally share with each other. Expressing gratitude or receiving it from others releases dopamine & serotonin — these chemicals make us feel happy (fighting our natural negativity bias). Valentines week isn’t just about romantic love, it’s about or “brotherly” love, the greatest of all.

Little stuff gets magnified when we are under stress. The bad as well as the good. Since teachers are so good at keeping their cool around kids and parents, it’s nice to offer them gestures of gratitude & helpful product samples (not just donuts), showing that someone cares about their full health. Little thank you notes on a post-it. Little shots of ginger citrus or (even better homemade). Samples of powerful immune boosting herbs & supplements to try. It doesn’t have to cost much. But it takes a few extra minutes, which most of us don’t have when our hair is on fire. The strongest teams help heal each other.

New year, new immune boosting strategies! Thanks to Banyan Botanicals, we’re able to infuse a little Ayurvedic wisdom into our schools’ teacher coffee stations . Alongside a $5 jar of raw honey and a little warm water, one bag of I.H.NOW provides 116 servings of powerful synergistic herbs like turmeric, neem, tulsi, amalaki, and sitopaladi to support respiratory and immune health. Nonprofit Wellness likes to offer affordable, natural strategies for preventing illness before it reaches crisis point. We hear so much discussion of masks (KN95 baby!) and vax (get boosted!) but not enough of , and preventative tactics in general. Ayurveda is an ancient science of somatic balance and nutrition that strengthens the entire body’s systems against infection and dis-ease. We’re forever students, learning as we go; follow ayurveda accounts for more knowledge (including ) or learn from an Ayurvedic-informed coach (like former DC school principal or mom-supporting yogini ). Oh! And is also a great little mouth freshening and detoxifying practice.
