They didn't hide it.

The Louisiana Legislature passed a map explicitly designed to pack Black voters into a single congressional district, stripping away the power that decades of civil rights organizing built. The right to vote means nothing if the maps are drawn to cancel it out.

Juneteenth marks the day in 1865 when the last enslaved people in Texas finally heard what had been law for over two years that they were free. The delay was intentional, and the fight to make freedom real didn’t end that day. It’s the same fight happening right now. Happy Juneteenth from Hip Hop Caucus. The work continues. 💪🏾

Black Americans left the South during the Great Migration because they couldn't vote there.

Since then, millions have returned, and now the states they came back to are gerrymandering those communities out of political power before they can use it.

We should all be outraged.

Republicans in Southern states are gerrymandering the return of Black voters.

We grew up doing balloon releases at cookouts, graduations, and memorials, and nobody told us that they contribute to the air and soil pollution that hits Black and Brown neighborhoods the hardest.

It's not about playing the blame game; it's about the fact that our communities deserve accurate information about what's making us sick, especially when the pollution always seems to find its way back to us.

Now we know.

They are not trying to suppress something that doesn't matter! 🗣️🗣️

They are redrawing the lines because they know what happens when we vote together. Gerrymandering and the SAVE Act gutted VRA protections; all of it is designed to make Black and Brown communities feel like our power doesn't count.

Pac told us back in '98: nobody is coming to save us.

Registering, showing up, and bringing your people with you is how we push through this moment.

A Black woman in Mississippi spent years fighting for fair representation on the state's highest court... and won! Then the Supreme Court's Callais ruling wiped that victory away before a single new election could be held.

This is what voter suppression looks like in 2026. Not just blocking people from the polls, but using the courts to erase victories that communities spent years fighting for.

A major legal win for Black Mississippians that was supposed to lead to new elections for the state Supreme Court was wiped away.

Cities are literally putting trash bags over surveillance cameras because they signed contracts they can't get out of, and in the meantime, that data was already being funneled to ICE.

This is what over-policing looks like in 2026. Black and Brown communities have always been the testing ground for surveillance technology, and by the time the public finds out, the damage is already done.

Regretful cities aren't sure how to cancel their surveillance contracts, so they are literally covering their cameras.
