A new commentary featuring SCB's Revive Working Group is now live on Mongabay.com!

Following a recent Mongabay series exploring burnout, trauma, and the “epidemic of suffering” in conservation, conservationists are responding, and Revive is part of that movement.

In this piece, Revive President Jen R. B. Miller and Vice-President Kelly Guilbeau reflect on how individuals, teams, and organizations are actively building a culture of care: supporting one another while continuing to protect the ecosystems we care about.

Revive is part of this growing movement: a global community of conservation professionals working together to strengthen emotional hashtag and hashtag across the field.

Creating space for these conversations and for practical support, is not separate from conservation. It is essential to it.

Thank you to Society for Conservation Biology for licensing my photo of a spectacled caiman for their February issue cover.

"Spectacled caiman (Caiman crocodilus) in Llanos, Venezuela. The warming climate will negatively affect nearly all species at multiple levels. Thus, adaptation to high temperatures will be critical to species' survival, particularly that of amphibians and reptiles due to the environment's regulation of their physiology and fitness. Sun et al. (e70127) examine common evolutionary and environmental thermal variations that shape reptile and amphibian heat tolerance and acclimation capacity."
