Hi Friends - A few years ago, my father and some friends started a scholarship fund to benefit students from his hometown of Moro Moro, Bolivia. So here, I am writing to you not as a representative of the MMSF, but as a man, as a fellow passenger on this ship we call life. I would share with you a thought about compassion, maybe the kind of compassion that encourages one to give to a small scholarship fund for students thousands of miles away. ;-)

Compassion, Achievement, and Struggle

It is a universal condition that life upon this earth is a struggle. Many of us spend our lives struggling to achieve, however it is not the achievement in the end that matters. But rather the manner in which we conduct our struggle and make meaningful connections with others. Do we gain the world but lose our souls? Were we kind? Do we display compassion, even in the very midst of our struggle?

If we can but touch the compassion of the divine, and then channel it, then I believe all else becomes secondary. Our struggle, our personal struggle, diminishes as we ride the waves of compassion that flow from the SOURCE.

And when our struggle is done...we lay our burden down...and embrace the Spirit.
