Trekking for Kids in the magnificent Kingdom of Bhutan, completing work on a bathroom building funded by the trekkers and their donors, followed by a 7 day trek Ledhi La trek, along yak herders' path.

TFK is in Cartagena right now for the start of our Amazon trek. After a few days of fun we are on our way to Leticia, to the entrance to the Amazon. We will be spending the next 5 days in the Colombia Amazon working with a school along side the Calanoa Foundation.
We loved our time in Cartagena but are excited for the next part of our trip.

Hello everyone! We currently have a group in Nepal for our Everest Base Camp Trek.

In 2015 a devastating earthquake destroyed the Shree Bikash School. TFK helped rebuild that school that year which serves hundreds of students. After almost 10 years the school was in need of many repairs to the bathrooms, walls, floors and ceiling. In addition it needed a fresh coat of paint. These much needed repairs are now complete.

Our group spent the last couple days with the kids playing games, giving school supplies, doing art projects, and of course dancing.

This work was made possible in large part by generous donations from the Michelle Devlin Memorial Fund. Michelle’s was one our our beloved TFK trekker who has shared and magnified our work for many years. We held a memorial service today in her honor. It was the perfect day and the perfect setting. She is greatly missed.

Slovenia, day 3. TFK trips can be life changing in many ways, and for the trekkers who climbed to the summit of Mt Triglav, that accomplishment is a feat they will always remember, and with deserved pride. Ropes, cables, Via Ferrata, snow…what a day. For the other trekkers, it was an uphill scramble over rocks and scree. Finally,
the group re-assembled at Koca na Dolicu for the last night on the mountain.

Julian Alps, Slovenia, day 2 of steep hikes, stunning scenery, and great camaraderie on the trails. TFK trekkers spent the night at the remote mountain hut at Vodnikov dom.

Intrepid TFK group completed their work in Albania, then off to iconic, beautiful Slovenia to begin the trek. It’s an understatement to say it’s a stunningly gorgeous mountain nation, the peaks steep and rugged and the scenery jaw-dropping. The first day the trekkers reached the summit of Visevnik, and were rewarded by a surprise arrival at a bucolic cheese-maker’s hut.

TFK on its inaugural trip to Albania, working at orphanages in Durres and Shkozet. We funded the purchase of a new fence/gate, provided clothing and gifts for the children and housewares for their homes, painted areas of the play area, and purchased and assembled playground equipment to help bring some joy to their days. Next, to Slovenia to trek the Julian Alps.

Trekking for Kids trekkers experienced the beauty, history, and culture of Peru while making lasting capital improvements on a workshop and school in the remote village of Huacahausi
