So excited to welcome Jess Myers as emcee this year!

Jess covers the Minnesota Wild and the NHL for the St. Paul Pioneer Press. He is a member of Warroad High School's Class of 1987 where he got his start as a sportswriter, covering the Warriors for the Warroad Pioneer and the school newspaper, Smoke Signals with valuable guidance and editing from dedicated teachers like Deanna Comstock, Janet Grove, and Carole Nordine.
Jess is a 1991 graduate of the University of Minnesota Duluth where he earned a degree in journalism, was sports editor of the student newspaper and began his career writing as a freelancer for several national newspapers. He also worked in Minnesota state government for more than a decade and previously wrote about college hockey for The Rink Live, attending and covering the NCAA Frozen Four 32 times.
He and his wife Karen live in Inver Grove Heights, Minn. where they raised their three adult children and welcomed their first grandchild in 2025.
Jess is a third generation Warroad alum- his mother, Lynda Anderson Myers, belonged to the Class of ’63 and his grandfather, Julius Anderson, belonged to the Class of ’32.
