As we watch the storm approach the coastline of Texas, Foundation Beyond Belief is gearing up to provide aid to the area impacted by . Please consider donating as little or much as you are able to.

FBB's Humanist Disaster Recovery is now raising funds at fbbgive.org to assist those most in need in the wake of Hurricane Harvey. The ground in the region is already saturated from the wettest August on record and some areas are expected to receive more than 30 inches of rain with no place for that water to go. Meteorologists and experts in disasters have forecasted the effects of Harvey will be unprecedented in many areas and recovery organizations are already mobilizing.

In the Washington Post today, "In all these years, it’s rare that I’ve seen a hurricane threat that concerns me as much as this one does,” said Rick Knabb, hurricane expert at the Weather Channel and former director of the National Hurricane Center.

The National Weather Service office in Corpus Christi, near where the storm is expected to make landfall, said that due to the combination of flooding from storm surge and rainfall, “locations may be uninhabitable for an extended period.” It warned of “structural damage to buildings, with many washing away” and that “streets and parking lots become rivers of raging water with underpasses submerged.”

Reason Rally Thanks You!

Reason Rally 2016 was a great experience for those of us that were lucky enough to be there. Memories were made and fun was had by all. Hopefully, you came away inspired and excited to be part of a great secular community. We could not have done it without you!

The time has come for us to close up shop and wind down our operations. In the next few days, we will be taking down both the Reason Rally store and image websites.

In their final Christmas message from the White House, President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama recognized nonbelievers and our shared values. "The idea that we are our brother's keeper and our sister's keeper. That we should treat others as we would want to be treated. Those are values that help guide not just my family's Christian faith, but that of Jewish Americans, and Muslim Americans; nonbelievers and Americans of all backgrounds."
