Excellent CEO Opportunity - President / CEO — HCP
With the support of Association Options, the New York State Association of Health Care Providers, Inc. (HCP) seeks a strong, strategic, and visible leader to serve as its next President/CEO. This is an opportunity to lead a statewide organization at a critical time for home and community-based care in New York.
The ideal candidate is a persuasive and proactive leader with exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, a deep understanding of the legislative process and New York State politics, and the ability to navigate complex industry challenges. The President/CEO must have a statewide presence, ensuring meaningful engagement with members across New York—not just in Albany.
Location: Hybrid (Must be within commuting distance of Albany, NY)
Compensation: Salary range $130,000 to $155,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications
Benefits: Competitive benefits, including healthcare, retirement, and wellness plan
Annual Budget: $960,000

POSITION OVERVIEW
The President/CEO will work closely with the Board of Directors to define and execute HCP’s strategic vision. This role involves leading advocacy efforts, managing financial and operational functions, and driving member engagement while maintaining a visible leadership presence statewide. The President/CEO must be willing to travel regularly to engage with members and stakeholders across New York.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with the Board to develop and implement HCP’s long-term vision.
Advocacy & Public Awareness: Represent the home care sector and influence state and federal policies, leveraging a deep understanding of the legislative process and New York State politics.
Financial & Operational Management: Oversee budgeting, compliance, and organizational efficiency.
Team Leadership & Remote Workforce Management: Manage a high-performing, hybrid team.
Industry Representation: Serve as the public face of HCP, engaging with members statewide and fostering relationships with key stakeholders.
· Member Services & Growth: Strengthen membership engagement and retention, ensuring HCP’s services and initiatives align with member needs.
Educational & Research Foundation Leadership: Oversee 501(c)(3) educational programs and grants.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in nonprofit management, leadership, or executive roles (CEO, COO, or director level).
Proven success in working with mission-driven organizations and associations.
Strong strategic leadership skills, with the ability to drive growth and operational excellence while navigating complex industry challenges.
Deep understanding of the legislative process and New York State politics.
Exceptional problem-solving abilities and the ability to navigate difficult conversations effectively.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking experience.
Business acumen, including budget management and revenue growth strategies.
Proficiency in technology and modern software applications.
Statewide travel is required to foster in-person connections and member engagement.
An undergraduate degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
Preferred:
Operations expertise and experience leading an organization through strategic transitions.
Experience managing legislative and advocacy efforts in a complex regulatory environment.
Strong marketing and membership growth strategies experience.
Experience leading remote and hybrid teams.
