“Inspiring kids to love to read became my mission.” — Dolly Parton

Dolly Parton was known around the world for her music. But one of her biggest legacies is helping children fall in love with reading. 📚💛

In 1995, she started Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in her home county in Tennessee with a simple idea: get books directly into the hands of children.

Today, the program provides free, high-quality books to children from birth to age 5, regardless of their family’s income, and has distributed hundreds of millions of books around the world.

Because sometimes, a book is more than a book. It can be the start of a lifelong love of learning. ✨

Her music gave us songs to remember. Her generosity gave generations of children stories to grow with. Her legacy will keep turning pages. 📚💛

What helps students thrive?

It's not just one thing, it's having spaces where they feel welcome, resources that spark curiosity, and a community that believes in them.

Research from the OECD shows that students who are more engaged and motivated in learning tend to perform better academically. That's why creating environments where students feel supported matters.

Every investment in students, whether it's a transformed library, new technology, or access to books, is an investment in their future.

There's something special about walking into a space that's ready for you.

Whether it's a library, makerspace, wellness room, innovation lab, or another place to learn, thoughtful environments can help students feel comfortable, confident, and excited to explore.

Sometimes a fresh space is all it takes to spark a new idea.

Young people are filled with big ideas 💙

On International Youth Day, we're celebrating the young people who are already making a difference in their schools, communities, and beyond.

They're the future artists, engineers, entrepreneurs, educators, leaders, and change-makers.

And honestly? We think the future looks pretty exciting. ✨

Maybe it's an outdated space. Maybe the shelves are empty. Maybe it just needs a little imagination.

That's where we come in. 💙

Swipe to see how "before" becomes a wow! ✨

Every transformation starts with a vision and a whole lot of teamwork. Together with educators, students, volunteers, and partners, we turn underused spaces into places where students can create, collaborate, explore, and discover what's possible.

Today we celebrate the cultures, histories, and contributions of Indigenous Peoples around the world.

At Heart of America, we're proud to support programs like Skip the Grid that help expand educational opportunities while partnering with and learning from Indigenous communities.
