Vote now for 2024-2025 Board Elections
https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/XFBX2NP

Congratulations to our President- Laura Ahrens and Secretary- Scott McCann who ran unopposed for their positions!

There are two candidates each for the Treasurer and Vice President positions. Please see below for information submitted by each candidate before casting your vote.

Treasurer:
Daniel Brauer
Why do you want this position?
I have always been interested in financial management since my undergraduate days (NSULA) when I served as the treasurer for my fraternity back in 2007. Since I completed my MBA from LSU, I have been interested in exercising everything I learned in the real world. My current position in the Navy is as a program analyst managing the shipbuilding portion of the Navy’s budget. I manage a budget of anywhere between $30 and $40 billion per year. I would love to get back into the financial management world and contribute my experience and time to the alumni chapter. When I took over a treasurer for my fraternity, the financials were very disorganized and poorly tracked. We were not properly covering our insurance bills and collecting dues. Over my time as treasurer I was able to clean up our financial records, ensure all our bills were covered, and even get us in a position where we had positive cash flow to fund events.
When did you attend LSU?
2015 to 2016 and completed an MBA.
How did your LSU experience prepare you for where you are now?
The major impacts from completing my degree were the different management styles and the psychological factors that come into play as a leader. Being in the Navy as a submarine officer I have not had the opportunity to exercise the financial management skills up until recently.
Any additional information to share with the chapter about why you're running.
My wife and I are huge LSU fans! She converted me into a fan the first few years of our marriage. She’s the primary reason I even considered going to LSU and a major reason why we continue to stay involved. We have moved every few years since I joined the military in 2008 and have not had a chance to get involved in any alumni events outside of making it to a few sports events when we could. I would love the opportunity to support the Alumni chapter while I’m in a position in my career to allow me the extra time to devote to this.
Hope McKee
Why do you want this position?
I would love to get involved with LSU Alum and support in any capacity. I have attended a few events since I graduated in 2019 and moved to D.C right after. I am proficient in budget allocations and managing budgets through my role at Deloitte and think I would be a great fit.
When did you attend LSU?
2015 – 2019 – Human Resources and Leadership Development
How did your LSU experience prepare you for where you are now?
LSU gave me the tools and resources to be successful in Consulting through leadership experiences (SHRM President 2018-2019), my coursework in human resources development, and being involved in my sorority. Attending a large school like LSU, allowed me to be flexible, adaptable, and a leader in my work and in life!

Vice President:
Josh Manriquez
Why do you want this position?
Attending LSU Alumni events has allowed me to stay connected to home (Louisiana) and acclimate to a new city. I would like to help others feel welcome the same way I have.
When did you attend LSU:
2016
How did your LSU experience prepare you for where you are now?
It helped me become a more social person and learn to be conscious of the community around me. Apart from my education as a Civil Engineer, which gave me the technical tools needed to succeed, my time at LSU also gave me a baseline understanding of interpersonal relationship dynamics that many in my field seem to lack.
Jake Netterville
Why do you want this position?
I have recently moved to Washington DC after graduating this May. While at LSU, I held several leadership positions in many organizations across campus and would love the opportunity to continue giving back to the University through my alumni involvement.
When did you attend LSU?
I attended LSU from Fall 2019 through Spring 2024
How did your LSU experience prepare you for where you are now?
While at LSU I was involved in many organizations across campus.
Through my experiences at LSU I gained many skills that I think would be beneficial to work with the alumni chapter. I was President and alumni chairman of my fraternity, on exec board for Ducks Unlimited, an advisor to student government, founding member and VP of Debate LSU, and I also worked several jobs including at the State Capitol, the Picard Group, and as a bartender at Freds. These experiences helped to learn and experience what it takes behind the scenes to promote alumni engagement, manage funding, host large events, and manage people and relationships.
Any Additional Information to share with the chapter about why you're running?
I am very excited to be in Washington and I look forward to being involved with the alumni chapter. I will say that I am a hard worker and am highly motivated to continue the success of this alumni chapter. I would love the opportunity to join the board and help however I can.

Voting is open from now till midnight Sunday, September 15th. Still want to get involved with the the board this upcoming year, reach out to [email protected] to express interest and we will be in touch!
