USJETAA is going to Seattle! We are so excited to collaborate with at their annual Transitions career-focused event by bringing USJETAA's Career Compass to town. Join us in person at Seattle University on Saturday, October 3, 2026!

This will include a career workshop, market update from Quick USA providing insight on finding Japan-facing jobs in the U.S., and panel discussion focused on navigating the US job market and job hunt. We'll take a short networking break with light food and beverages.

Stick around afterwards for the Expo- an opportunity to meet and talk with local Japan-facing companies, organizations and institutions. This is your opportunity build meaningful professional connections in the Seattle area. Hope to see you there!

🍁 Autumn Equinox (秋分の日, Shūbun no Hi) marks the arrival of autumn in Japan and is a time to appreciate the changing season. It’s also a national holiday when many people visit family, tend to ancestors’ graves, and enjoy the season's splendor.

USJETAA will host free JET Application Office Hours on Tuesday evenings in October. These casual, one-hour sessions are informal and welcoming. Just drop in, ask your questions, and chat with experienced JET alumni from a variety of backgrounds. We typically have a JET Program Coordinator joining us to answer questions as well. There is no formal presentation, so bring your questions!

JET and GLOBIS alum Saskia Rock will be part of a GLOBIS online seminar, "Your Career in Japanese Organizations," on October 6. Both Saskia and GLOBIS have been supportive and engaged partners with our alumni community. They will be discussing:

• Working effectively across cultures
• Growing your career in Japanese companies
• Understanding leadership and decision-making styles
• Navigating organizational culture and expectations
• Building a meaningful professional path connected to Japan

Our final Career Coaching cohort of the year is led by JET alum and certified career coach Emily Frank (Hokkaido, 1993–1996). This 3-month series gives you the space, structure, and support to get clear on what you want next.

Through guided workshops, peer connections, personalized feedback, and one-on-one coaching, you’ll turn reflection into action alongside fellow JET alumni.
