This featured JOSH article explored how socioecological supports are related to adolescent multi-victimization, with particular attention to transgender and gender-diverse adolescents (TGDA). Survey data from 4,207 students across 13 high schools in a mid-sized U.S. city were used to compare victimization rates and socioecological support levels, such as parental monitoring, perceived social support, food and housing security, and associations between socioecological support and victimization.

The American Academy of Pediatrics and Nationwide Children’s Hospital are excited to launch a national learning community focused on implementing The Burrow Blueprint: Advancing Primary Care Mental Health in Schools. Developed by Nationwide Children’s Hospital with support from The Joe Burrow Foundation, this innovative resource supports school health professionals in strengthening mental health care for students nationwide.

Participants will engage in five dynamic, peer-to-peer learning sessions—beginning with a kickoff call in September 2026—alongside flexible, self-paced exploration of Burrow Blueprint modules. This collaborative experience offers practical tools, shared learning, and meaningful connections with peers across the country.

Registration is open to all; however, priority will be given to school-based health center primary care providers. Register for the learning community here: https://us06web.zoom.us/meeting/register/dTIN0sUQQ4OSdzf0hs7kaQ #/registration

We invite ASHA conference attendees and supporters to help us make a direct and meaningful impact on students in public schools across southern Indiana, including Lawrence, Monroe, Morgan, and Orange counties, by donating items through our Amazon Wishlist.

Many students in our communities face barriers related to access to basic hygiene necessities. The majority of items requested, such as deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, menstrual products, and other personal care essentials, are simple but critical resources that help students come to school feeling confident, comfortable, and ready to learn. When basic needs are met, students are better positioned to focus academically, participate socially, and fully engage in their education.

By selecting and purchasing items directly from the Amazon Wishlist, ASHA conference attendees and supporters can ensure that donations are sent efficiently and distributed quickly to schools with the greatest need. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps remove barriers to learning and supports students in thriving both inside and outside the classroom. Your generosity makes a tangible difference in the daily lives of children (and schools) across southern Indiana!
