YO Adkins Youth Orchestra Outreach Program was recently featured in the Palm Beach Symphony newsletter “Between the Notes.”

Many Palm Beach Public Elementary School orchestral strings students have had the opportunity to participate on Saturdays at Dreyfoos School of the Arts.

Mr. Adkins teaches strings students with support from SOAFI and the Palm Beach Symphony. It is a great opportunity for students to come together and learn from the best!

This morning, at a Principals’ Meeting, Maestro Mr. Smith led a 4 student quartet made up of: Edwin Parsons (Principal 1st Violin), Elizabeth Arguello (Principal 2nd Violin), Avery Nugent (Principal Cello) and Chelsea Benjamin (Principal Viola). They did such and incredible job performing for the administrators! The quartet students are all in 5th grade and are part of the Chamber Orchestra.

Your contribution to the Palm Beach Public School Orchestral Strings Foundation (PBPSOSF) helps fund this incredible strings program at Palm Beach Public Elementary School and gives the opportunity to students from Kindergarten to 5th grade to learn to play string instruments and polish their skills as strings musicians!

Kindergarten students in Kinderstrings have started their strings training at just 5 or 6 years old. They are attentively listening to Mr. Smith as he teaches them the basics. It is always such a delight to see the progression of the smallest musicians six years later, when they are 5th graders, and getting ready for middle school!

Happy last day of school to the graduating 5th graders! This school year, the Palm Beach Public School Orchestral Strings Foundation (PBPSOSF) gave all graduating 5th graders that are part of the Strings program a red carnation boutonnière to wear on their final performance at the Spring Concert. We wish you the best as you enter a new chapter: middle school!
